Cold Press, Cold Brew & Cold Drip
We begin our process by asking questions. From our experience in the industry we have learned that no two projects are the same. Every customer is at a different step of their journey, and every customer needs a unique approach.
Once we identify your needs, our expert brewers will work closely with you to create the flavour profile that is exactly what you want.
With over 16 variables in our brewing process, it is unlikely you'll have to adjust your coffee roast to get the cold coffee profile that you're after.
No matter which process you choose (Cold Brew, Cold Press or Cold Drip), as soon as your beans arrive at our brewing facility, they are immediately degassed to ensure we obtain the best final result of your beans. Furthermore, our team will grind your beans and have them in the brewer within 20 minutes to ensure maximum flavour.
Water isn't just an ingredient in our brewing process, it is the solvent which extracts the flavour compounds from your coffee. The more filtered the water, the better the extraction.
We want to pull all of the flavours and minerals from the coffee, not the water.
If you opted for our proprietary Cold Press process, your brew will created using over 2 tonnes of hydraulic pressure in a chamber held at an artificial altitude. The ground coffee is then slowly pressed over a period of 14-22 hours. Using such extreme pressure archives lysis and when compared to the other brewing methods, Cold Press coffee yields a greater number of compounds and flavour.
We find that Cold pressing produces the best results in comparison to our other methods. If you're looking for a balanced and slightly sweet extraction, Cold Press might be the best option for you!
Our approach to brewing Cold Brew uses the traditional steeping method. If you don't know what the traditional steeping method is, imagine a giant tea bag with your ground coffee inside. Now imagine that "tea bag" steeping in a a giant chamber filled with water. Now fast forward 18-22 hours and the water in this giant chamber becomes cold brew coffee.
If you request for us to Cold Drip, your coffee will placed in our commercial drip brewer which drips ice cold water onto your ground coffee over a period of 5-16 hours. Our Cold Drip process usually produces a mellow,” “clean,” or “tea-like.” cold brew. Most of our customer's are amazed that their dark roasted blend produced a light, syrupy brew with very low acidity and noticeable sweetness.
Next up is our proprietary sterilisation method. Once your brew is complete, we apply this method to achieve a preservative free product with a longer shelf life. All this is done without affecting the flavour of your coffee.
Once the product has been sterilised, we will fill and pack your product into whatever container you and your customer's desire. Finally your order is palletised and shipped out using traditional or even a cold transport option (depending on your location).
We can use your beans to make your product. Your roast may need to be adjusted to maximise the flavour, however one of our expert staff will help every step of the way.
Anywhere from 100 litres to 10,000 litres, we can tailor a solution that is right for your business.
